Mean temperature, 51.5 deg. The barometer has a rising tendency and reads 29.85 (1011 millibars). Generally fair weather Is indicated to-day and to-morrow with scattered rain, mild temperatures, winds variable. The Rainfall Rainfall Tor 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning. .031 n. Ralnrall for previous 24 hours. .04ln. Ralnrall Tor August to hate. 2.661 n. Average rainfall for August, 3.961 n. Rainfall for year to date Average yearly ralnrall, 46.32 inches. SPECIAL FORECAST (By GcvarnmeDt Meteorologist) The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist, covering the Waikato-Thames Valley Is as follows: General situation: Pressure is low near Chatham islands and high over Australia while weak secondary disturbances continue to cross the Dominion. Forecast: Light to moderate southerly to westerly winds predominating; weather mainly Tair and cool, but some showers, chlaflv in the King Country; seas moderate in the west, slight in the east.
