THE LATEST RETURNS DISCOUNT RATE UNCHANGED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, August 15 The latest Bank of England returns are:— Issue Department.—Notes in circulation, £613,900,000; notes in the banking department, £16,300,000; other Government securities, £2,900,000; silver coin, £500,000. Banking Department.—Rest, £3,500,000; public deposits, £30,700,000; bankers’ deposits, £107,600,000; other accounts, £48,800,000; Government securities, £161,700,000; discounts and advances, £5,400,000; other securities, £20,800,000; notes and coin, £17,200,000. Ratio of reserves to liabilities, 9.23. The Bank of England discount rate remains unchanged at two per cent.
