ANNUAL MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS FARMERS’ PART IN DOMINION WAR EFFORT GROSS TURNOVER INCREASES TO £9,836,227 A production record in its 21st year is the feature of the activities of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company over the past year. The past season’s activities were fully reviewed at the annual meeting of supplier-shareholders to the company today when the progress of the company and the splendid manner in which the farmers were playing their part in the Dominion’s war effort were detailed. The chairman of directors and the general manager gave comprehensive addresses and Mr W. Goodfellow also gave an interesting address on the marketing situation. The meeting was held in the State Theatre, Hamilton, and a large attendance was presided over by Mr W. Marshall, Chairman of Directors. The reviews again indicated that the company is the largest co-operative concern of its kind in the world. The increase in production this year brought the total output of the company to 75,611 tons, a substantial increase on last year, while the gross turnover also showed a marked increase, rising to £9,836,226 13s 6d.
