GAMES IN STREET
NUISANCE TO RESIDENTS COMPLAINT to council Complaints at the practice of boys playing football and other games on Sundays in Boundary Road came before the meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council last night when a letter was received from a resident of the street. The writer said th© trouble had been going on for some time and she had had to cut down an ornamental tree at her gate, as it had been broken by the children when they climbed to get their ball. Football was not the only source of complaint, for the children made the roadway their playground for cricket and other games in season. Although they had been asked to desist they would not do so. The writer named one boy as the chief culprit. The council was asked to take steps to stop the nuisance. “This is a very dangerous practice,” said the Mayor, Mr H. D. Caro, when moving that the matter be refered to the traffic inspector with power to act.
