WAGE INCREASE RESULT
favoured section BOARD CHAIRMAN’S VIEW (By Telegraph,—Special to Tlmeat THAMES, Tuesday There should be a protest from every section of the community, except perhaps the favoured ones, said Mr W. C. Kennedy, at a meeting of the Thames Hospital Board, when the wages increase was discussed. “It is wrong to increase wages unless hours are increased,” added Mr Kennedy. “ Young people who are getting a decent wage are going to get the benefit at the cost of someone else. The employers get no consideration at all.” Tile secretary said that the cost to the board would be about £SOO. It was decided that the secretary should bring down a report to the next meeting.
