AGAINST BRITAIN

DEMONSTRATION IN JAPAN “DELIVERS THE GOODS” (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlgnt) LONDON, Aug. 13 Police almost outnumbered the demonstrators at the widely-heralded anti-British rally at Hibya Hall, Tokio. Previous announcements that the demonstrators would visit the British Embassy failed to materialise. Anti-British and pro-Axis resolutions were adopted, after which the demonstrators dispersed. It is reported from Shanghai that the Japanese military spokesman declined to deny reports that Japan is contemplating the movement of troops across Indo-China to strike against China. British firms are placing slogans on the packing cases of goods exported, the object being to counteract German propaganda about the blockade. One firm is placing on its packing cases the Union Jack, under which is the slogan, *“ Britain Delivers the Goods.” Other slogans adopted by firms are: “ Britain’s Answer to the Nazi Blockade ” and “ Germany Would Like This; You Can Have It.”
