PROTEST BY ITALY
CHARGES AGAINST GREECE ALLEGED HELP TO BRITAIN VIOLATION OF NEUTRALITY (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 13, 3.15 p.m.) ROME, Aug. 12 It is authoritatively stated that Italy will send a note of protest to Greece regarding the assassination of Daut Hoggia, an Albanian leader, when the Italian experts finish the examination of the facts.
<The Popolo id Roma accuses Greece of violating its neutral status and j openly aiding the British. J “We wonder whether Greece has * allowed British agents to function freely along the Albanian-Greek ' frontier,” it says. “More than 200 j well-furnished oil bases have been built in the past two years at straI tegic points on the Greek coastline and islands for the refuelling of the British air and naval forces.” Responsible persons doubt the paper’s report that British ships are being refuelled at Greek islands, and add that if the British attempt to move into Greece in any way the Italians will do likewise. j
