WEEK-END RESULTS (Special to Times.) TE AWAMUTU, Monday. At Albert Park, To Awamutu, on Saturday, Rovers and Te Awamutu played an exciting match in which the latter team was victorious by 9 points to 8. After a spell of up and down play, Rovers attacked and Quinn got over for Young to convert from wide out. Te Awamutu was awarded a penalty for a breach of the scrummage rules and Teddy put the ball over. Rovers 5, Te Awamutu 3. Rovers attacked but Te Awamutu cleared for Tombs to cross but the try was disallowed as Tombs had intefered with an opponent in the race for the ball. Rovers Increased its score when Reynolds and Young combined for the former to cross. The kick at goal failed. Rovers 8, Te Awamutu 3. Teddy added a further three points from a penalty and repeated the performance later to put Te Awamutu one point ahead. The game became very keen with Rovers trying to get ahead but the defence held and at Tull-time the score was Te Awamutu 0. Rovers 8. At Pirongia, the local team defeated Waikerla by 12 to 3. Juniors. —At To Awamutu Old Boys drew with Owairaka, three all. At Parawera. Rovers met the local team and a bright match ended in a draw with the score at G all, the points coming from tries. Third Grade.—Old Boys 14, Pirongia 5. Fourth Grade.—Playing 14 men against High School A’s 11 men, Te Awamutu won by 19 to 0.
