BRITISH CHILDREN PLAN
HELP OF ORGANISATIONS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The thanks of the Government for offers of assistance in handling the scheme for the reception of children from England was extended today by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, to organisations associated with the welfare of children in New Zealand and others assisting in the work. Mr Parry said that scarcely an institution with social tendencies had failed to submit an offer, while the people of New Zealand were most enthusiastic about the scheme. Within a few days, the Minister said, letters would reach the local committees appointed, setting out a further measure of co-operation which would assist the working of the scheme. He pointed out the advantages of having representatives of the various women’s organisations which were interested in the welfare of children on the reception committee.
