FAREWELL SOCIAL

SOLOIERB AT T* AWAMUTU (Special to Times.) TE AWAMUTU, Monday. There was a large attendance at the Te Awainutu Town Hall on Friday night when a farewell was extended to the local and district members or the third echelon, or whom over 3 0 were present. The first portion of the programme took the form of a concert, alter which, the troops took seats on the etage where the Mayor, Mr George Splniey, and Mr A. W. skinner, vice-president of the Hemmed Soldiers Association, briefly addressed the men. a small gift was made to each man and musical honours were given with hearty cheers. After supper dancing was enjoyed.
