SUCCESS OF ITALIANS AFRICAN PASSES OCCUPIED (United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyrlg-nt) (Received Aug. 12, 11.30 a.m.) ROME, Aug. 11 A communique states: The submarine Odin, which the British Admiralty has already announced lost, was sunk during Italian naval operations. The advance into British Somaliland continues, the Italian forces occupying the Carrin and Godajere Passes. Italian planes bombed the Erkovit airfield, scoring direct hits on fifteen planes on the ground. All the Italian planes returned safely after enemy pursuit planes had b'/3n driven off. A British plane, when attempting to bomb Elauk, was brought down. The pilot was taken prisoner.
