WEEKEND RAIN

MOST FALLS AT NIGHT With the heaviest showers at night, rain at the week-end did not cause a great deal of inconvenience, though the fall late on Saturday afternoon interrupted sport. In the 48 hours ended 9 a.m. to-day .17in. of rain was recorded. At intervals during Saturday night heavy rain fell, but people were able to spend yesterday out of doors until 5 o’clock, when light rain began. During the night the fall increased in volume. The rain was accompanied by mild atmospheric conditions, continuing the favourable winter growth on farm and in garden.
