PETER PAN’S LETTER
J)EAR GIRLS AND BOYS, Such a lovely tangr is to be found in the air these days, isn’t there, and what lovely golden ones they have been too. Peter feels quite, quite sure that the Weather Man has got over his fit of the “miserables” and is feeling quite happy once more. The Circle People have been spending long hours in the warm sunshine trying to keep the weed people at bay, but Jenne says she feels quite sure that they grow three times as quickly as her very best plants and twice as thickly, and the Sunshine Girl says she seems to spend most of her time pulling those thoublesome weeds away from her very special tulip bulbs. Peter thinks the weed people are very like our mischievous twins for they are always in the place where they are least wanted. The Wendy Person and Peter have started their garden rambles again and such truly beautiful sights have been found in all parts of the town. The W’endy Person says she loves the golden spring more and more each year, for the yellow and blue blossoms seem to grow bigger, brighter and more fragrant as each season slips by. On Monday Peter found the loveliest circular bed of snowy white hyacinths in full bloom and the sweetest of perfumes was wafted along the street on the evening breeze and then, not far along the road, he found two golden crocuses just opening their soft green cases on to a world of blue and gold. On Tuesday there were lots of scarlet and blue anemones in bloom and such a glorious splash of colour they make in a large square bed. Then there was the loveliest bush of palest of pale pink plum blossom in bloom and the softest carpet of the delicate petals lay at the foot of the tree. And now, here come the Twins, bursting into Peter’s room looking very excited for their Fancy Dress Ball is peeping from the land of “Soon-to-be” and all the Circle People are trying to decide what the Twins are to wear. Tony said he was going to be an airman like “Cobber” Kain but Jenne can’t quite make up her mind whether she would like to be “Brlttania” or just a “Land Girl,” while the Wendy Person thinks the Twins should go as “Mr and Mrs John Bull.” But here comes the Printer Man once more, so lots of love and best wishes to you all little people. ' From yours, Lobklng-for-fancy-costumes,
