Sonja Henie Marries Millionaire Sonja Henie, skating champion and film star, was married in Chicago recently to Dan Topping, an American millionaire. Previously they had denied rumours of their romance. Laughton May Be Captain Bligh Again Frank Lloyd intends to add another chapter to the film biography of Captain Bligh, the central figure in “Mutiny of the Bounty.” He is seeking Charles Laughton, who played Bligh in “Mutiny of the Bounty,” to continue the role. The film will deal with Bligh’s career as Governor of New South Wales. Greta Garbo and Spencer Tracy Greta Garbo wants Spencer Tracy as her leading man in the film biography of Madame Curie, discoverer of radium. Garbo met Tracy for the first time at Palm Springs and interested him in the picture. Cavalcade of Academy Awards Warner Bros, will release shortly its “Cavalcade of Academy Awards.” as a thirty-minute short feature. One hundred and sixteen stars are in the film. All “Oscared” players, writers and directors are among those present. Scenes from each of the Awardwinning pictures since 1927 are included in the production. Former Star Died Penniless James Hall, star of the “silent” films, has died penniless in Hollywood. He began his rise to fame as leading man to Jean Harlow in “Hell’s Angels” and later became one of the most sought-after leading men on the screen, appearing with such stars as Clara Bow, Colleen Moore, Bebe Daniels, and other actresses who were Dopular in silent pictures. Latterly he had been engaged in •adio work.
