Competition for fat cattle was again keen and a .pen or light fat Polled Angus heifers on account of Mr J. it. Arnold (Piarere) realised £8 16s. Boners made late rates. All classes of dairy cattle were In very keen demand. 'Fat sheep met a keen market and a pen or prime lat wethers on account o-f 'Mr O. 13. Arnold sold at 4 2s. Quotations: — cheep.—-Prime fat wethers 425, fat hoggets 275. Cattle.—-Light fat steers £9 to £9 10s, fat heirers $3 2s 6d to £S 16s, fat Jersey cows (heavy) £6 to £7 ils 6d, fat Jersey heifers £6 to £7 2s. VALUES AT TE AWAMUTU The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report that at their
Te Aiwamutu stock sale on Thursday a full yarding of beer was penned and met a keen demand. Ox beef sold freely at late rates, with cow beef also -steady’, and a general -clearance wa-s Directed. A small yarding of boner and store cows showed no alteration, while the advertised entry of steers and young -store cattle created keen Interest and realised values in advance of expectations. A small yarding of sheep met steady bidding at values remaining arm on late rates. A large yarding or dairy cattle was penned, Including the advertised herd ex Mangapeety. The cattle were yarded in good condition and sold steadily at sa-tlsfa-c----tory values. A large offering of dairy heifers met a ready sale at late firm rates. A light yarding of fat and a good penning of store pigs were offered. Although selling was not as ready as at other centres. I values were well up to ruling rates, a j good sale resulting. The small entry’: of breeding sows was not in as keen demand as has been the case or late with prices accordingly a little easier in this section. WAIHOU YARDING The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering company, Ltd., report that at their Wailiou stock sale yesterday a lull yarding of cattle included a good penning or cow and heirer beer. Competition Tor all classes was keen with prices fully up to recent advanced rates. A ready demand existed for empty 2-year Jersey heirens, and here again values remained linn. A good entry of dairy cows and heifers sold readily under steady competition from a large bench of buyers at prices in advance of recent sales. Jersey heifers, close to profit, realised as high as £l6 10s. A light yarding or pigs comprised mostly weaners and stores and the demand for all classes was keen at values rully up to late Frankton rates.
