Valuable Scholarships
Valuable scholarships to commence in 1941 are offered by the Board of Governors of King's College, Auckland. These include the Caughey Scholarship of £3O per annum, open to boys under 13 years of age on January 1, 1941. This scholarship is offered once every
four years. Entrance scholarships of £45 per annum for four years are also offered for boys under 13, one for boys under 14, and one for boys attending a preparatory school. King’s College is administered on the lines of the Great Public Schools of England modified to suit the needs of New Zealand. Boys are given a wide general education and are prepared for the Universities, the Professions and Commercial life. There is a special course in Agricultural Science and Practice. The College is situated ten miles from Auckland among rural surroundings and in a healthy district. It possesses spacious playing-fields, tennis-courts, and very fine swimming baths. The Memorial Chapel, with its fine windows, attracts many visitors.
