NEW ASSOCIATION

MANAWATU RUGBY REFEREES (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) PALMERSTON N., Thursday A new Rugby referees’ association was formed in Palmerston North tonight, thus overcoming the difficulty that had arisen as a result of the Manawatu Referees’ Association going into recess. This had occurred after differences of opinion with the management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union over penalties imposed on players stood down during games. Several members of the old association offered their services in order to help out for the remainder of the season.
