THE LATEST RETURNS DISCOUNT RATE UNCHANGED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 9, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, August 8 The latest Bank of England returns are:— Issue Department.—Notes in circulation £613,600,000, notes in the banking department £16,600,000, other securities £3,300,000, silver coin £500,000. Banking Department.—Rest £3,500,000, public deposits £19,200,000, bankers’ deposits £114,100,000, other securities £157,300,000, discounts and advances £3,100,000, other securities £22,000,000, notes and coin £17,500.000. Ratio of reserve to liabilities, 9.58 per cent. The Bank of England discount rate remains unchanged at 2 per cent.
