SALVOES OF BOMBS
RAIDS ON THE CONTINENT ICE ON THE MACHINES MILITARY OBJECTIVES HIT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 9, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, August 8 The Air Ministry states that some Royal Air Force raiders last night became so heavily ice-laden that they were unable to climb. Sea mist and thick clouds obscured Kiel, but the raiders recognised and bombed the dockyards. The bombers also dropped salvoes of bombs on aerodromes at Holtenau and Husum despite violent firing from the ground.
