EGYPTIAN COTTON

AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE DEMAND FROM LANCASHIRE BUSINESS PEOPLE SATISFIED (Omcial Wireless) (Received Aug. 9, 11.45 a.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 8 Lancashire uses over one-third of the whole Egyptian cotton supply. Large quantities of fine Egyptian yarns have been used for balloon fabrics and aircraft production. The agreement on the purchase of the cotton crop between the British and Egyptian Governments announced yesterday has been well received in business circles. The general comment on the agreement stresses the significance of the contrast which it makes with the type of arrangement in which the Nazi economic policy cohtrives to involve other countries.
