AWARD INTERPRETED
HOURS OF TROUBLEMEN (By TeTeffraph.—special to Times) j AUCKLAND, Thursday | An interpretation has been givenj by the industrial magistrate, Mr J. A. Gilmour, on two points in the northern district electrical workers’ award. He ruled that the shift roster for servicemen and troublemen should be fixed without definitely showing the starting and finishing times of the shifts. The Court also replied that servicemen and troublemen whose duty it is to stand by for calls are not entitled to any additional payment for the time they are standing by at the place of employment or elsewhere. The opinion was expressed that time spent standing by at the place of employment should be regarded as time worked in computing payment for work over the weekly hours or the three-weekly period.
