Copyright) (Received July 30, 11 a.m.) HONGKONG, July 29 It is reported that China has rejected Japanese overtures, involving: an Armistice, with an all-embracing: settlement at the expense of third Powers. The Japanese proposals are reported to be:— (1) The outright cession of the five provinces of Hopei, Chahar, Shantung, Shansi and Suiyuan. (2) Recognition of Wang-Ching-Wei as President of the Chinese Republic, made up of the remaining provinces, plus British Burma, French Indo-China and Thailand, in which China and Japan would share the economic opportunities. (3) Manchuokuo’s status left in abeyance indefinitely.
