ARGENTINE SYMPATHY
MR CHURCHILL'S THANKS FIGHT AGAINST NAZIDOM PRINCIPLES OF DECENCY (Official Wireless) (Received July 30, 3.15 p.m.) RUGBY, July 29 The following reply to a telegram from Senor Carlos Pueyrredom, expressing the solidarity of the Argentina pro-Ally Committee—receipt of which has given great pleasure to the British people—has been sent by Mr Winston Churchill:— “ I thank you so much for your kind message. Coming from our friends in the Argentine Republic, our secular ties with which are so highly valued, its tribute to the steadfastness of our people and the efficiency of the armed forces of the Crown is especially welcome and encouraging. “ Backed by a united Empire we are resolved to pursue to a victorious conclusion the struggle against Nazidom and all that it implies for the whole world and thereby ensure the firm establishment of the principles of decency and Christian civilisation. The good wishes and support of our friends across the seas greatly heartens us in the discharge of the task which lies before us.”
