CALL TO MINISTER
KNOX CHURCH, HAMILTON EAST A special meeting of the Waikato Presbytery was held at Knox Church, Hamilton East, today to deal with a call to the pastorate of the church in succession to the Rev. H. J. Lilburn, addressed to the Rev. W. Carmichael, of Fortrose, Southland. The Rev. D. C. Mclntyre, Moderator, presided. The Rev. S. J. Atkins, Interim Moderator, presented the call, which was signed by 100 members and 28 adherents. He said the congregation was unanimous in the choice. Messrs Henderson and Wallace, who appeared as commissioners from the congregation, having been heard, Presbytery sustained the call, which will come before the Southland Presbytery at the next meeting on Tuesday, August 6. The Rev. D. Hay formerly of Matangi, was nominated to prosecute the call before that body. The induction was fixed for Tuesday, September 3, at Knox Church when the officiating ministers will be the Revs. D. C. Mclntyre (Moderator), A. H. Keighley, C. L. French, H. W. Hitchcock and J. H. Haslop (clerk). Mrs Henderson and Miss Cowley entertained the Presbytery at morning tea.
