TWO SOLDIERS CHARGED
COURTS-MARTIAL AT CAMP (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Monday Two courts-martial were held today at Papakura mobilisation camp. The decisions will not be promulgated until they have been confirmed by the officer convening the courtsmartial, Colonel N. W. McD. Weir, commanding the northern military district. Gunner H. R. Readman, 2nd AntiTank Regiment, was charged with being absent without leave from April 28 to May 8, with being absent without leave from May 16 to June 28, and with escaping from arrest and losing by neglect his equipment, clothing ond regimental necessaries. The court consisted of LieutenantColonel C. Shuttleworth (president) and Captain J. Oliphant and Lieutenant A. Marbeck. LieutenantColonel F. L. G. West was judgeadvocate. In the second case, Private T. Lineen, 24th (Auckland) Battalion, was charged with being absent without leave from May 23 to July 14. Major J. G. C. Wales was president of the court, and the members were Captains C. H. Chapman and R. R. Beattie, with Lieutenant-Colonel West as judge-advocate.
