WAIPA CLUBS WEEK-END MATCHES (Special to Times) TE AWAMUTU, Monday. Waipa Rugby results on Saturday were as follows: Pirongia defeated Te Awarnutu by 11 to 8. Te Awarnutu was leading by 8 to 3 I at the Interval. McVerry and Teddy scoring and Teddy converting his own try. In the second sp«-il Grace scored l’or Pirongia and ihe \ isitors got the a han - tage when O’Rrieu -cored artcr a lineout Tor Grace to add the points and Pirongia kept the lead. Rovers defeated Waikeria by 1" to S after a hard game. Melville potted a goal to open the scoring but Reeve weaved his way through the Rover hacks to score i a good try which was converted and Wai--1 keria took the lead. Rovers got another i try to be countered by a penalty which ! put Waikeria ahead by S to 7. Rovers 1 came again in the last part of the match j and scored a further try which was uu- : In the third grade representative match ! for the Cucksey cup, Morrinsville was too good for Waipa and displayed better and Saltier scored ‘for the winner and Paterson kicked a penalty. Waipa’s points came from a try by llandcock which was converted by Bevin. Fourth grade games resulted: le Awamutu 9. Ohauipo 5; High School A 30, High School B 5.
