CORONATION CEREMONY
QUEEN AND HER RETINUE PRESENTED IN BLEDISLOE HALL Commencing the Centennial recreation celebrations, the people of Hamilton will tomorrow night have the opportunity of witnessing the presentation of the coronation ceremony, as similarly performed in Auckland, when Mrs Gordon Matthews was crowned Queen of the South, on attaining first place in the provincial queen carnival held to raise funds for the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund. Once again this ceremony will .augment the patriotic funds, and in conjunction with a display of interhouse drill and marching competitions, will provide an excellent night’s entertainment of an interesting and spectacular nature. In attendance on the Queen of the South will be her retinue of six, and in addition two queens from the recent carnival Matamata and ©koroire will be present. With fifteen teams taking part in the inter-house girls’ drill, marching competitions and massed drill display, a scene of physical well-being will be presented, typical of New Zealand youth, and worthy of special notice by the public, representing as ihcse teams do, the maximum of coordinated effort and efficiency. The following teams will take part:— Public Trust, Post and Telegraph, Alfa. Laval, Y.W.C.A., St. Mary’s, Arawa, Paul’s High School Old Girls, H. and J. Courts (2), St. Andrews, Great Bargain Stores, Technical School Old Girls, Hooker and Kingstons, N.Z. Dairy Co.
