COMBINED BREEDERS
HIGHER ENTRIES FOR SALE Mr F. J. Whewell, president of the Waikato Combined Breeders’ and Auctioneers’ Association, presided over a full attendance of delegates at the annual meeting, held in Hamilton. The meeting opened with a vote of sympathy to the relatives of the late Mrs- Hodgson, one of the oldest residents of Tamahere, whose son was a delegate. In presenting the annual report Mr Whewell expressed the resolute faith absolu .te confidence which they held, as British subjects, in the Homeland and the whole British nation during the critical days of war. Referring to the annual bull Mr Whewell said that on the average the stock entered showed an improvement in quality and condition. Entries for the coming sale numbered 523 ]}ulls, an increase of nearly 100 on the last fixture. He commended the system adopted of compulsory branding of all stock passed for entrance into the sale ring. The ejection of officers resulted: President, Mr T. J. Whewell (reelected); inspection committee, Messrs T. J. Whewell. W. Wallace, F. S. Veale. A. W. Green and the Inspector of Stock, Department of Agriculture. Jersey judge on typo, Mr D. D. Wilson.
