AIRCRAFT SUPPLY

PLANES FOR BRITAIN FACTORIES IN UNITED STATES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) WASHINGTON, July 26 Mr A. C. Knudsen who is Coordinator of Defence Production, stated that Britain will need to build 3<> factories in the United States to obtain the production of 3000 planes monthly, while such production could not be reached before the middle of 1942. He stated he is preparing for the British an estimate of the factory equipment costs necessary. The present United States plane production is approximately 900 monthly. Britain will obtain 236 planes from August production. Mr Knudsen said it will take from six to eleven months to erect and equip an aircraft factory.
