21st BIRTHDAY
MOTOR-CYCLE CIA B The activities of the Hamilton Motor Cycle Club during its twenty successive years in existence were reviewed at a smoke concert arranged by the club on Saturday night, when the 21st birthday was celebrated. Mr B. Peace, one of the foundation members of the club, presided over a large attendance, the visitors from Auckland, Te Awamutu, Rotorua, Te Aroha and other districts including Mr C. Allen, president of the New Zealand Auto Cycle Union, and Mr G. Smith, president of the Auckland Motor Cycle Club. A lengthy toast list was observed, Mr J. Williams, the first secretary of the Hamilton Club, recalling that the first member he signed up was the late Squadron-Leader M. C. McGregor. He added that during its twenty years the club had donated over £350 to charities. The toast of the New Zealand Auto Cycle Union was proposed by Mr S. Tisch and replied to by Mr Allen; Old Members proposed by Mr P. Randle and replied to by Mr J. Williams; the Hamilton Club, by Mr W.
