GAMES AT CAMBRIDGE HAUTAPU AND MATANGI WIN (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Sunday The principal Rugby game at Victoria Square before a fair attendance was he-, tween Hautapu anti Leamington seniors, the runner winning by 20 points to 8. In ihe early stage..* Hautapu failed to get on the score-hoard with several penalty kick*. Alter a good movement by Scott for Leamington. Cooper carried on with a line line-kick, and from the line-out Leamington scored, cooper converting. Halftime came with score unchanged, but Hautapu was pressing hard. Shortly before half-time W. Scott (Leamington) suffered a badly strained leg and bad to receive medical attention. Resuming, Hautapu started well and from an attack L. Kidd scored. R. Kidd missed the conversion. Hautapu was on top now and Trom a line-out a good back movement was seen, resulting in Jones scoring. Shaw converted with a long kick. Hautapu was continually pressing a.iU rrom a close-up scrum Tibbett scored. Shaw’s kick failed. Hautapu went farbter ahead when from another Lack movement R. Arnold ran well to cross. The kick failed. In the concluding stages, with Hautapu all over Leamington. R. Arnold kicked a penalty goal. Just at the close Learnington retaliated and Bertelsen went across in the corner. However, Hautapu was soon back and in the last minute McKlnder scored, making the final score: Hautapu 20 v. Leamington 8. At Leamington Matangi met United and the game resulted in a win for the former by 12 points to 3. In Other Grades Results in other grades were: Juniors: Leamington 9, Hautapu 6.
