DENTAL CLINICS

SCHOOLS WITHOUT SERVICE CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETS The following schools were represented at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Dental Clinic Committee, held last night: Hamilton West, Horsham Downs, Koromatua, Whitiora, Newstead, Fairfield, Hillcrest, Matangi, Rukuhia, Forest Lake, Hamilton East, Frankton and the Parents’ Associations of the Hamilton East and Hamilton West Schools. An apology was received from the Waitetuna School. Dr. R. M. S. Taylor delivered an address in which he stressed the need for dental service in schools. He considered it necessary for funds to be raised and a dental clinic formed at the new Hamilton West School. If this clinic were provided, together with the new Frankton clinic, a number of schools which were not now receiving any dental treatment would benefit by this clinic. They were Rotokauri, Karakariki, Eureka, Piako Road, Tauwhare and the Diocesan and Southwell Schools primary departments if desired. The speaker answered questions on the dental subjects that were forwarded. Dr. Taylor concluded his address by remarking that he was willing and anxious to preside at a meeting of parents and discuss the school dental clinic position.

The election of officers resulted:—. Chairman, Mr H. M. Baker; secretary, Mr F. W. Mead; executive, Messrs H. M. Baker, F. W. Mead, D. Street and N. Holden.
