BUILDING SOCIETY
CAMBRIDGE ANNUAL MEETING (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Friday At the 27th annual meeting of the Cambridge Building Society the chairman, Mr H. Burge presided. The report showed that during the past year two appropriations of £4OO each had been conducted. The report stated that the annual revenue in building societies for the most part was derived from the proceeds of premiums on account of appropriations by sale, and as the society did not experience an appropriation by sale during the year under review, the loss of £53 4s 7d shown in the profit and loss account was not unexpected. Three directors who retired by rotation, Messrs E. T. Glover, F. H. Lewin and A. W. G. Pearce, were re-elected. As there were no tenders for an appropriation by sale, a ballot was held for £4OO, the winning number being 305.
