ITALIANS JITTERY

IMAGINED AIR RAIDS NO PLANES OVER ROME (United Pre=s Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received July 27, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, July 26 The Times says the Italian and German press is greatly fussing about civilians being injured on Tuesday night, when Italian anti-aircraft defences went into action against planes over Rome. Officials in London declare that no Royal Air Force machines have been over Rome since Italy entered the war. The Italians are merely repeating the Venice incident when Italian batteries fired on their own bombers, two of which were brought down.
