Detective A. J. White, of Hamilton, has received advice of his promotion to Detective-Sergeant. Sir Walter Stringer, chairman of the War Pensions Appeal Board since 1927, has resigned. Sir Francis Frazer has been appointed his successor, the change to take place on August 1. The Rev. H. C. Mathew, minister of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Otahuhu, has resigned following his appointment as deputy-superinten-dent of the Borstal Institution at Invercargill. Mr G. P. Shepherd has been appointed Deputy for the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, and Mr J. H. Robertson and Mr M. V. Bell, both of Auckland, have been appointed Commissioners. Mr H. D. Acland, Christchurch, has been re-elected president of the New Zealand Sheepowners’ Federation. Mr C. H. Williams, Gisborne, vice-president, and Mr E. Hay, Christchurch, honorary treasurer.
