HAMILTON BRANCH

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE The monthly meeting of the Hamilton branch of the Catholic Women’s Leaguq was held on Thursday afternoon, when a large number of members was present. Members were reminded of the first birthday celebration to be held on August 22, when it is hoped to have, as guests, members of branches from the surrounding districts. Arrangements were also made for members to take charge of. the Red Cross shop on August 2. The afternoon’s entertainment took the form of a mock court, very ably presided over by Mrs C. Clark, when members were mulcted in varying sums for very humorous “crimes.” The president, Mrs Fearon, thanked Mrs Clark for her judicial work and members for their splendid response to the fines. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames H. Deverell, F. Duffy, F. Heinneman and J. Hill.
