TAUPIRI NEWS
RED CROSS CARD AFTERNOON A successful bridge and five hundred afternoon was held on Thursday at the Red Cross room in Taupiri. The afternoon was organised by Mrs D. R. Welch, president of the Taupiri branch of the Red Cross Society. The winner of the bridge was Mrs H. Riddell, and of the five hundred, Mrs T. McDowall. After afternoon tea had been served Mrs Welch presented the prizes and expressed thanks to all who had assisted the Red Cross funds by attending the function. Among those present were:—Mesdames A. Buss, L. Powell, T. McDowall, R. McFerson, A. Button, C. McEndoe, J. Black, A. Taylor, A. E. Brooks, J- Murphy, N. Grant, L. Wilson, S. Fransham, W. Richards, L. Foley, J. Farrell, A. Walters, T. Gibb, W. Howard, A. Trentell, C. Morgan, S. Stanley, A. Garry, H. Andrew, H. Riddell, N. Jackways, D. R. Welch, Miss E. Brooks (secretary of the Red Cross).
