PLANS IN MATAMATA (Special to Times) MATAMATA, Friday j At a meeting presided over by the Mayor, Mr W. A. Gordon, arrange- j ments were made for completing the ! planting of the Centennial avenue of 1 trees, commenced las£ year as part i of the Matamata Centennial observations. A list of original settlers of the district was perused, and 22 | names were selected of those who had relatives at present residing in the j district, and for whom a tree had not been planted last year. Mr M. E. Fitzgerald, in whose hands the planting arrangements are left, stated that about 12 different species of native timber had been provided for. It was decided to observe Arbor Day on August 15 on which day the planting ceremony would be carried out
