To Wish You All A Happy Christmas

C HRISTMAS is at the door. Who among us will not willingly yield again to the fes- Sj I BalPj live celebration of Christ’s birthday ? W'ho will not welcome once more the spirit ' U ® o/ companionship and goodivill which have come to the heart of human generations W for hundreds of years every BRat j O y S 0 f family re-unions, the home-coming of sons and daughters scattered far and jfSjSfi wide? Who of us will not cherish again the special kind of opportunity which p? 1 Christmas offers to the world to leave behind for a while the mad hurry-scurry of fc| Ip t j e so f u n 0 f care today, and to find the com posure of simplicity and kindness and peace £2 of mind ? |l rS -Inside and outside the home we need th c spirit of Christmas, not only just now when are Christmas comes, but through the whole year. Every month, every day, every hour. There fji Vj Is nothing more certain than this. We need it because now, perhaps more than ever before, rj we seek for the home and the family a greater security and a happier living. l( Then let us wish that this shall be so. Let us do more. Let us put our every endeav- In' our to work to bring the influence of Christmas into our daily lives — always. It will need strenuous effort, a lot of discipline, a stiff fight against prejudices and con- I Hventions, but the result will be well worth all that it costs in time and patience. * U If we can gain a better understanding of ourselves and other people, if we can come ’j to know more clearly the real meaning of sportsmanship, and loyalty and courage and fair J, jto play; if we can look upon disappointment without bitterness and success without envy; if l( we can meet the day’s ordinary cares with honest beliefs and ideals; if we can greet men ( rjj and women with laughter on our lips and love in our hearts, then surely we may say that N [7 Hf e i s sweet and that we have rightly understood and widely spread the message of Christmas. I gi It is by following along this path that we shall come to know and enjoy a richer prosrf perity—not a prosperity only associated with material possessions, not a prosperity measured LI by gold and silver, stocks and shares, but a sort more secure and more satisfying, a pros- J Sj perity which brings well-being, contentment, happiness, moral and spiritual riches. u ftj. At no time in the world’s history have men and women needed faith in their country fy p and in their countrymen more than now. So Christmas this year must find us steadfast in our W 7 ideals, determined on a course of friendliness, courage and good cheer and well-equipped to surmount the difficulties which lie before us, before we reach the good days which will j 3 surely come. Yours sincerely, ' LADY EDITOR.
