A HAPPY CHRISTMAS

Even in these days of international turmoil it is possible to lay aside gloomy thoughts' for a little while and give oneself up to the spirit of Yuletide. so opce again I wish my readers a happy Christmas. May the holiday season be filled with brightness, and the spirit of Christmas—“ Peace on earth and goodwill towards men”—soon rule everywhere.

This Christmas sees quite a revival of “flesh and blood” shows in New Zealand, and to my many friends in<the profession, who do so much to brighten the lives of the public, I would add a special word of good cheer.
