DINNER and a Show!
CHRISTMAS Lift up your hearts, lift up your hearts ! We shall not live in vain If, though the miracle may fade, The message still remain; Let hatred die from out the heart And utar from out the story; Peace to all nations upon earth And unto God the glory !
In these three little dinner frocks piquantly reminiscent of Victorian charm, all milady’s moods are reflected. The first model speaks of sophistication with its spreading skirt, eyetaking lace jacket and jaunty hat, the second is of the “ Little Women ” trend and adds prim little bows and a graceful cape, and the third disports a vivacious check in an unexpectedly demure role.
TO A CHRISTMAS CHILD When behind the dark trees* trellises Spread the pale glories of the happy morn, There comes another Christmas child on this, The greatest of all birthdays, born. What shall we wish him for his birthright? Yea, Butter and honey, as the prophet would, That knowledge may be his, to put away The evil, and to choose the good. —Alfred Cochrane.
