HOUSING EMPLOYEES (By TPlf'erapTi. —Pre*s Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday The Government’s decision about holiday pay for men employed directly by the Housing Department 1 was announced to-day by the Minister of Housing, the Hon. H. T. Arm - strong. | "It has been decided to bring the j department into line with pretty well | every other State department as far j as statutory holidays are concerned,” ! said Mr Armstrong. “We have decided ! to pay for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. That applies i only to men directly employed by the ! Housing Department and who are on i our payroll. We have no jurisdiction I over men employed by contractors.**
