GIRLS FOR OFFICES

DEMAND MAINTAINED • TUITION FOR STENOGRAPHERS BRAIN’S COLLEGE SUCCESSES Reviewing the results of a successJ ful year, the principals of Brain's Commercial College stated in their ; annual report that the demand for . girls for office work had been well ■ maintained. During the year many i ; positions referred to the college by l | employers could not be filled owing . , to lack of trained students qualified : ! to fill them. Now that the final ; 1 examinations were completed it ; ! would be somewhat easier to find ap- » | plicants for office vacancies, but no . i difficulty was expected in placing all , j qualified students in suitable positions. One satisfactory feature of the year , had been the increase in the number of young people taking the full year’s course. Parents were evidently realising to a greater degree the obvious advantages of giving their ■ i daughters a thorough grounding in 1 I the essentials of the work they would j have to do, thus enabling them to ■ | accept employment with confidence 1 ! and with the prospect of steady ad--1 | vancement. | Government Examinations !
