COAL MINE DISPUTE

IMPASSE IN AUSTRALIA DECISION OF GOVERNMENT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrignt; SYDNEY, Dec. 19 The Prime Minister, Mr R. G. Menzies, announced last night that the Federal Cabinet had decided not to appoint a special tribunal to deal with the grievances of the coal miners on the northern coalfields, but would allow the Arbitration Court to continue to function on their behalf. The chairman of the combined coal mining unions later made a statement that the decision of the Cabinet would be discussed by the unions today. The policy laid down would be submitted to aggregate meetings of miners early in January.
