LOSSES AT SEA

18 SHIPS IN M EEK BRITISH AND NEUTRAL (United Press Assn—rare Tel. copyrignt, LONDON, Dec. 18 Seven British merchant ships and 11 neutral vessels were lost between December 10 and 16. The British losses were:—The Corea (751 tons), the St. Alberta (7397 tons), the Willow Pool (4815 tons), the King Egbert (4535 tons), the Warwick Head (491 tons), the Deptford (4101 tons), and the Stanbrook (1838 tons), which is overdue and believed lost. The neutral losses were:—The Dutch vessel Immingham (398 tons), the Greek ships Garoufalia (4708 tons) and Germaine (5217 tons), the Swedish ships Toro (1467 tons), Algol (978 tons) and Ursus (1499 tons), the Belgian steamer Rosa (1146 tons), the Norwegian vessels Rangi (1264 tons), H. C. Flood (1097 tons) and Strindheim (321 tons), and the Danish ship Magnus (1339 tons). In the same period one German ship, the Dusseldorf (4930 tons), was captured, and one, the Adolf Leonhardt (2990 tons), was scuttled by her crew to avoid capture. In the first 10 days of December the number of entrances and clearances at British ports totalled more than 1100 vessels of a total tonnage of over 3,000,000. Of these 1100 vessels 10 were lost.
