ROWING AT TAURANGA
HAMILTON CREWS’ VISIT MAIDEN EIGHT GOING WELL The Hamilton Rowing Club will be represented at the Tauranga Regatta on Boxing Day by two crews in the maiden fours, an entry in the maiden eights and also a maiden sculler. The fours have been doing steady training and the eight lias been doing excellent work. Last night a trial over the course was most encouraging. Starting at a sharp 32 strokes to the minute the crew sprinted well and then steadied to 30. The form displayed was very satisfying to the coach and a sprint over the latter stages of 33 was full of pep and augurs well for the racing ahead. Hamilton's Big Carnival With the possibility of an overseas crew at the Hamilton regatta on January 29 the improved form shown is most encouraging. An effort is being made to get the well-known Hamilton senior crew into training and if this endeavour is successful some very fine racing will eventuate at the forthcoming fixture. All arrangements for the Tauranga visit are completed, and with Mr R. Harris as manager of the party a successful trip should result.
