PLANE CRASHES
FIVE MEN KILLED TRAGEDY IN AUSTRALIA THE MACHINE WRECKED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) SYDNEY, Dec. 18 Five men were killed instantly when an Australian Air Force AvroAnson machine crashed on the Richmond golf course to-day. The victims were: Flight-Lieutenants Arthur Watkins and Hugh Horner, both of Sydney. Flying-Officers Henry Fitzgerald and Malcolm Mclnnes, both of Melbourne. Aircraftsman Leonard King, of Brisbane. The tragedy occurred two minutes after the aeroplane had taken off on an intended cross-country flight to Point Cook, Victoria. The machine was completely wrecked.
CRASH IN FLAMES SPANISH PASSENGER PLANE THREE BODIES RECOVERED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright; (Received December 19, 11 a.m.) GIBRALTAR, Dec. 18 A Spanish mail and passenger plane was seen flying low in flames. It then crashed into the sea six miles from Europa Point. British destroyers dashed to the rescue and recovered three charred bodies.
