SUCCESS OF BRITISH CONVOY SYSTEM
Merchant fleet meets in convey off the British coast at nightfall. Convoys have kept down British mercantile losses to 82 ships (312,000 tons) in three months. In the same period Germany has lost 40 U-boat*—two-thirds of her submarine fleet.
