PARENTS’ DAY
GORDONTON SCHOOL FUNCTION (Special to Times) GORDONTON, Friday. Bria-ht sunstiine made Thursday an ideal day at the Gordonton School when Parents Lav was held. There was a good attendance of parents and friends. The headmaster Mr baker, welcomed those present and expressed his thanks to his assistant, Mi=s McLean, Tor her capable help in the programme. . . .. n The children, who wore in charge of the cake sweets, produce and jumble sta.ls, did a brisk trade, and a number of competitions was held, the winners being Mis peach, Christmas dinner. Mrs A. ». parfltt, cake, and Rosemary Thomson, clieased doll. , The display or work done by the children during the school year was of a very high standard. Massed drill by the pupils, a play, songs and recitations added to the afternoon's entertainment. On behalf or tile school committee. Mr F. w ll- \ amson. chairman, expressed appreciation or the work done by the teachers, Artcrnoua tea vxas served by the pupils.
