EVENTS AT EPSOM HIGH-CLASS PACERS IN FIELD DECEMBER HANDICAP DIVIDED Splendid acceptances have been received for the first day of the £ Auckland Trotting Club’s Summer Meeting, which will be held at Alexandra Park, Epsom, on December 27, 19 and 30. Only two, Horsepower and Great Jewel, declined from the i Centennial Gold Trotting Cup, leav- I ing a fine field of 12 high-class I pacers, including the Australian | Springfield Globe and Lawn Derby. Canterbury candidates remaining are I Marlene, Battlefield, Bill B. and l Icevus. With Dean Parrish the only absentee of the 39 horses handicapped for the December Handicap, the race will be run in two divisions, one on the first day and the other on the second. The prize-money will be raised from £2BO to £4OO, with £2OO for each division, in the ratio of £l4O, £4O and £2O to the placed horses. They will be treated as separate races on the totalisator, and the draw for divisions will take place on Monday. During the meeting, Lawn Derby and Nell Volo will attempt to create a fresh mile pacing and trotting record respectively. Acceptances:—
